Find out about oneworld

Everything you wanted to know about oneworld

Our frequently asked questions provide you with quick answers to the most commonly asked questions around oneworld and the benefits it provides.

There is no standalone oneworld frequent flyer programme, meaning that as a member of a partner airline's programme, you already have access to a wider range of rewards and benefits throughout the oneworld network. To learn more about the benefits of becoming a frequent flyer member of a oneworld airline, please visit our member airlines frequent flyer programmes page.

All oneworld airlines offer flight awards on other oneworld member flights. Please contact your airline frequent flyer programme for more information.

Unfortunately, an award can only be booked through the programme in which the points/miles are registered. To avoid having points/miles across multiple programmes, make sure the points/miles you earn are credited to your preferred members frequent flyer programme .

The best way to ensure that miles are credited is to enter your frequent flyer number into the booking before you travel.  There are various ways you can do this:

  • Booking online:  All our carriers websites allow you to enter their own and other  one world airline frequent flyer numbers into your bookings, usually just before or during the payment stage.
  • Booking through a travel agent:  please provide travel agent with your frequent flyer number so that he/she can enter it into the booking.
  • At Check-in : Many of our carriers allow you to enter frequent flyer number when you check in online, at a self service kiosk, or at a check in desk.

In the event that your frequent flyer number has not been entered into the booking before you travel,  please contact your frequent flyer programme , (or check their website) to find out what procedure  to follow to credit your miles/points.  Usually it is requested to send in the boarding passes for these flights. Often these processes can take several weeks, thus we recommend that wherever possible customers ensure that their frequent flyer number is entered into booking before travel.
