Travel Round the Pacific with oneworld Circle Pacific
oneworld® Circle Pacific makes it simple to plan an intercontinental "grand tour"1 around the Pacific Ocean. The Circle Pacific fare is available only for travel originating and terminating in:
- Asia (Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan)
- Southwest Pacific (Australia, New Zealand)
- North America (USA, Canada)
- South America
The price depends on the country where your journey begins and ends, the class you fly in2 and the mileage that you fly6.
If you are a member of any oneworld airline's frequent flyer programme, you will earn miles/points on eligible flights3. You will also enjoy all the privileges to which your membership status entitles you4.
Planning Your Trip
Routing
Travel must be on the services of American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, JAL Japan Airlines, LAN or Qantas and their affiliates only.
Travel must be via the North / Central Pacific in one direction and via the South Pacific in the other direction or vice versa. There are three different mileage based fares: A basic 22,000-mile product, a more flexible 26,000-mile product and a very flexible 29,000-mile product that can be used for travel originating in or for visiting South America.
A maximum of 16 flight segments are permitted for the entire journey. Travel between two airports by surface transportation will count as one flight segment.
Flights and stopovers
Four free stopovers are allowed with the 22,000-mile product, five with the 26,000-mile product and six with the 29,000-mile product. Additional stopovers can be purchased for economical rates.
Class of travel
You can book a oneworld Circle Pacific in first, business or economy class2.
For an extra charge a Circle Pacific fare can be booked in World Traveller Plus, British Airways premium economy cabin; Qantas premium economy cabin; JAL premium economy cabin on flights between Asia and North America.
Fares
The country where you originate your journey, the number of miles you fly and the class you fly in determines your fare.
Fares apply all year round.
Duration
Your journey can be a minimum of five days for first and business class or ten days for economy class. All travel has to be completed within 12 months.
Reservations
The first sector needs to be booked and ticketed seven days before departure.
Exception: for economy class fares, when bookings are made more than 22 days prior to departure, tickets must be issued at least 21 days before departure.
All reservations and ticketing can be handled by any oneworld airline.
Change of plans
oneworld Circle Pacific offers plenty of flexibility, should you unexpectedly need to alter your travel arrangements. A charge may be payable for this service and if your ticket needs to be re-issued this may take up to 24 hours. When making changes to your itinerary, please plan accordingly.

When you are planning your oneworld Circle Pacific trip, you are not restricted to our member airlines. The carriers that you can use with oneworld Circle Pacific have the following affiliates, although because of routings, some of these affiliates may not be used for this particular fare product:

Booking Your Trip
Booking cannot currently be made on-line because of the complexity of building and pricing individually itineraries. bookings can be made using a reservations office of any oneworld member airline or a travel agent. Terms and Conditions
- All information, routings, available destinations and fares are subject to change without notice. These fares are limited to availability and capacity control. Some penalties may apply concerning re-bookings, re-routings, cancellations and refunds.
- All destinations you wish to travel to must be stated at time of purchase, before departure from country of origin. Local service fees may apply for booking open-dated segments.
- Children and infants: Children pay 75%. Infants pay 10%.
- Minimum stay: 10 days economy class fares, five days first and business class fares. Maximum stay: 12 months.
- A maximum of 16 flight and surface segments will be permitted for the entire journey. Intermediate surface sectors between two airports are permitted at passenger's expense. Surface sectors must be included in the total mileage.
- Conditions of carriage and regulations. The carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo is subject to the conditions of carriage and regulations of the carriers concerned, copies of which may be requested from each oneworld airline.
- Further conditions apply. Please speak to any of the oneworld member airlines (American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, JAL Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév, Qantas, Royal Jordanian Airlines) or a travel agent if you have further queries.
1 oneworld Circle Pacific is available on scheduled flights that are both operated and marketed by a oneworld airline, or on a oneworld member airline affiliate. (Marketed means there must be a oneworld airline flight number on the ticket.)
2 If an aircraft serving part of your itinerary does not have a first or business cabin, customers will be booked into a lower class cabin. On AA services within / between the USA and Canada, where no business class is offered, business class passengers may book and travel in First Class subject to availability. Mileage and tier points can only be accrued from eligible fares from in the cabin flown.
3 American Airlines AAdvantage and British Airways Executive Club members can earn and redeem miles, and earn tier status credit, on all eligible flights except:
- American Airlines AAdvantage members will not earn or redeem miles or earn tier status credit on British Airways flights between the USA and the UK and vice versa. AAdvantage miles and top tier status credit may be earned though miles may not be redeemed on all American Airlines codeshare services operated by British Airways when the booking is made under the AA code.
- British Airways Executive Club members will not earn or redeem miles or earn tier points on American Airlines transatlantic flights. BA miles and tier points may be earned though miles may not be redeemed on all British Airways codeshare services operated by American Airlines when the booking is made under the BA code.
Class of travel restrictions apply. Some programmes exclude earning in economy class. Check with your programme for details. Each oneworld alliance airline reserves the right to change its frequent flyer programme rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers, and to end its frequent flyer programme in accordance with its relevant frequent flyer programme rules. Miles/points may be earned only on purchased, published fares.
4 At peak periods, access to certain lounges may be restricted due to capacity constraints. Access is available on the day of departure when the next onward flight is with a oneworld airline. Access may not apply at a limited number of third party operated lounges.
5 Only one stopover is permitted at any point. A maximum of one stopover is permitted in the country of origin. A maximum of two stopovers are allowed per region (South West Pacific / Asia / North America / South America). Where a passenger disembarks at one point and re-embarks at a subsequent point enroute, the points count as a single stopover. Additional stopover cannot be purchased for the country of origin. Additional stopovers restricted to two stopovers per region.
6 Travel originating in or including South America is only permitted on the 29,000-mile fare. Travel must be via the North / Central Pacific in one direction and via Chile to / from the South West Pacific using the services of Qantas or LAN in the other.
