About Malév

Malév, the flag carrier of Hungary joined oneworld® in 2007.

It serves around 60 destinations in 35 countries, mainly in Europe, including oneworld hubs Helsinki, London Gatwick, Madrid, New York and Bangkok.

Established in 1954, Malév is 99.5 per cent owned by Hungarian AirBridge consortium, of which Boris Abramovich (lead shareholder of AirUnion) holds a 49 per cent share.

Network

Malév offers direct connections to around 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle-East, overseas and the Far-East.  Malév scheduled long-haul flights link New York, Toronto and Bangkok to Budapest. These flights are operated by the company's Boeing 767-200ER type aircraft. A code-share flight is also operated to Beijing with the Chinese Hainan Airlines. Malév schedule network offers good opportunities for transfer between cities in Eastern-Europe and the Middle-East as well as between those in Western-Europe and North-America. It is a high priority issue for Malév to provide a rapid and comfortable transit for passengers transferring through Budapest.

Malév has code-shares with American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Royal Jordanian.
Beyond oneworld, Malév has commercial links with Aeroflot, AeroSvit, Air France, Alitalia, BulgariaAir, Carpatair, CSA Czech Airlines, Hainan Airlines, KLM, Moldavian Airlines, Montenegro Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Rossiya Russian Airlines, SN Brussels Airlines and Tarom.

Greater benefits with Malév Duna Club

Malév's frequent flyer programme is called Duna Club.  Duna Platinum is equivalent to oneworld Emerald, Duna Gold is equal to oneworld Sapphire and Duna Silver is equivalent oneworld Ruby.

As a Malév Duna Club member you collect points and redeem awards on all oneworld partner flights. The points collected on oneworld partner flights also accumulate to top tier levels.
