About Royal Jordanian
Royal Jordanian, the national carrier of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, was established in 1963 under the name "Alia," to become one of the first airlines in the region. It was privatised in December 2007 - the Jordanian government retained a 29 per cent holding with the next biggest shareholder, a company in the M1 group, with 19 per cent.
Royal Jordanian started its operations with three aircraft operating to three regional destinations. Its Amman base provides the alliance with one of the best hubs for travelling around the Middle East - the world's fastest growing region for air travel - where the airline's network is focused.
Royal Jordanian has always carried out its role as goodwill ambassador and bridge across which Jordan exchanges culture, civilization, trade, technology, friendship, and better understanding with the rest of the world, and sustains its vision of being the airline of choice connecting Jordan and the Levant with the world. Accordingly, Royal Jordanian is continually modernizing and upgrading its services, renewing the fleet, and expanding its route network and operations.
Its website, rj.com, is available in English and Arabic and was given a complete up-grade and new look in late 2009.
Network
Royal Jordanian has a network of 58 destinations in 37 countries on four continents. It flies to around 30 points in the Arab world, giving it the most extensive network of any airline in the region. With some 4,500 staff, Royal Jordanian carried almost 3 million passengers in 2009.
The airline operates one of the world's most modern fleets, numbering 29 aircraft - with Airbus A330s and A340s on longhaul routes, A319/A320/A321s on medium and shorthaul, and Embraer 195/175s on regional services. It operates more than 110 departures a day.

Royal Jordanian prides itself on providing a high quality of customer service. It offers two cabin classes on all flights - Crown Class (Business) and Economy.
