Official Rules
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR CLAIM PRIZE.
2. TO ENTER. Participants are automatically entered when they correctly complete at least 80% of the combined Quiz questions for all sections of this training module. All entries must be received by 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time (“PDT”) on the last day of each calendar quarter. All participants who have achieved 80% or better on the Assessment questions as of 11:59 Pacific Daylight Timeshall be eligible. Once received, all entries become the exclusive property of oneworld Management Company LTD (“Sponsor”) and will not be acknowledged nor will they be returned. Limit one eligible entry per employee of each member airline of the oneworld Alliance, LLC (“oneworld® carriers”) and one entry per employee of any travel agency. If a participant does not achieve 80% on the Assessment questions, participant may repeat the test in order to be entered in the contest. Access to and completion of the online training module is unrestricted.
All eligible entrants must answer correctly 80% of the questions in order
to be eligible for one of the quarterly Grand Prizes. Employees of the
oneworld® carriers may complete the training module on
the oneworld intranet eworld or on www.oneworld.com.
Travel agencies must complete the training module on www.oneworld.com.
Fill out the required contact information (including your first and last
name, employee number, and email address or telephone contact number (for
employees and IATA number for travel agencies). This information will
be used to notify the winning entrants. Failure to give accurate contact
information could result in your entry being disqualified. Your submission
is automatically stored and will only be accessible by the Sponsor.
3. PRIZE DETAILS. Two Grand Prizes per quarter consisting
of one Apple iPod touch for each Grand Prize. Each entrant may only enter
to win one of the Grand Prizes (approximate retail value or ARV of each Grand
Prize: CAD $320). Total ARV of all prizes per quarter: CAD $640.00.
Sponsor reserves the right to discontinue this promotion at any time without
announcement. Winners are responsible for any insurance, federal, foreign,
state and local taxes, if any, and any other unspecified expenses associated
with acceptance or use of the Prize. Prize is provided “as is” and without
any warranty of any kind. No cash redemption or prize substitution allowed
by winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or
greater value if advertised prize becomes unavailable without advance
notice. Limit one prize per household/family.
4. DRAWING AND AWARDING OF GRAND PRIZES. A random drawing
will be conducted by the Sponsor in the month following the end of
a quarter, starting in October 2008. Two separate random drawings for
each of the Grand Prizes will be conducted from all eligible entries:
one Grand Prize for travel agents and one Grand Prize for oneworld®
member airline staff of those having correctly answered the required percentage
with a score of 80% or higher. The first such entry drawn for each Grand
Prize that has correctly answered such percentage of the questions shall
be declared a winner of that Grand Prize. Sponsor’s decisions will be
final in all matters relating to this contest. The potential winners will
be notified by email dependent upon the information given to the Sponsor
on the entrant’s form. Prior to notification of any particular prize winner,
Sponsor reserves the right to determine whether or not the laws of the
jurisdiction of the country where a potential winner resides permit the
awarding of the prize under these rules without what Sponsor in its sole
discretion believes to be a detrimental effect upon Sponsor. In the event
Sponsor makes such determination, it may deny making an award to such
potential winner and thereafter award the prize in question to another
eligible person selected through random drawing. The potential winners
may each be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (which affirms
that he/she has complied with these rules) as well as a liability release
and, where legal, a publicity release, each of which, if issued, must
be completed, signed and returned within ten (10) days from date of issuance,
or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. If
any potential winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of
residence, all documents must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian
and such prize will be delivered to minor’s parent/legal guardian and
awarded in the name of parent/legal guardian. If any prize, prize notification
or attempted notification is returned as undeliverable, or a prize winner
fails to meet eligibility requirements, the prize will be forfeited and
may be awarded to an alternate winner from all remaining eligible entries.
Except where prohibited, acceptance of a Grand Prize constitutes winner’s
consent to use of his/her name and/or photograph without further compensation
or notice for advertising, promotional and publicity purposes by Sponsor
or any of the named carriers. By accepting one of the Grand Prizes, each
winner acknowledges compliance with these official rules.
5. ODDS. Odds of winning a Grand Prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received for that particular prize (i.e. entries that have correctly completed at least 80% of the combined Quiz questions for all sections of this training module).
6. ELIGIBILITY. Contest is open to all active employees
of oneworld® carriers and travel agents who are 18 years
of age or older at the time of entry.
7. LIMITATION. Employees and agents of Sponsor and its
agencies, distributors, wholesalers and retailers, and members of such
employees immediate families and individuals living in the same household
with such employees, are not eligible to win. Void in Puerto Rico and
where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
8. TAXES. Any valuation of the prize stated above is
based on available information provided to the Sponsor, and the value
of any prize awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required
by law. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and paying any and
all applicable taxes. If required in the country of residence, winners
must provide the Sponsor with valid identification and a valid taxpayer
identification number or social security number before any prize will
be awarded.
9. OTHER CONDITIONS. All federal, foreign, state and
local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole
discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this promotion or
any portion hereof, or to disqualify any individual. By entering, participants
agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, the participating oneworld®
carriers and each of their parent(s), subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions,
advertising and promotional agencies, wholesalers and retailers, and each
of the foregoing entities’ employees, officers, directors, shareholders
and agents (collectively the “Released Parties”), from and against any
and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss
or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation
in and/or entry into the promotion or acceptance or use of any prize.
10. LIST OF WINNERS. The name of each Grand Prize winner
will be posted on www.oneworld.com/ow/ travel-agents/ within five days
after the awarding of each Grand Prize.
11. SPONSOR. oneworld Management Company
LTD., Suite 980, 355 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 2G8, Canada, a
corporation organized under the laws of the Northwest Territories, Canada.
12. PRIVACY. In order to manage a participant's use of
the training modules, oneworld® will gather certain personal
information from participants as follows:
(a) Employees of oneworld Alliance, LLC carriers:
(i) purpose of use (self study or training session);
(ii) airline;
(iii) country of residence; and
(iv) email address;
(b) Travel agents:
(i) country of residence;
(ii) email address;
(iii) travel agency name; and
(iv) travel agent IATA number.
This information will be used to allow airline employees or travel agents
to access or re-access training modules and for reporting purposes (by
user group, airline or country). By completing the information necessary
to access this site, and submitting it to oneworld, you
thereby consent to the storage by oneworld of your personal
information and its use for the purposes set out above.
Your email address will also be used for the purpose of contacting you to advise you of upgrades to the
training modules or new training modules that are available for you. By clicking on the button "I Agree"
below, you consent to us using your email address for that purpose. By clicking on the button "Disagree"
you can proceed with the training module but will not participate in the Grand Prize draw.
