Transferring within and between terminals

The AirTrain operates frequent services between all terminals at JFK, with connections to the New York City subway and Long Island Rail Road.

Please note: if you are arriving on QF107, you may proceed directly to the onward flight terminal or departure gate. If you are arriving on another oneworld® carrier and connecting to QF108, please proceed to Qantas check-in if you do not already have a boarding pass.

How long does it take to transfer between terminals?

It takes approximately 8 minutes for the AirTrain to complete one loop of the terminals at JFK.

If you are connecting to another flight, you should allow 60-90 minutes to transfer between terminals, recheck your luggage if required and clear customs.

How long does it take to transfer between city airports?

New York JFK (JFK) to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

Transferring between JFK and LGA Airports via taxi, bus or limousine takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour. The Ground Transportation Information Counter at JFK can provide you with more information on arrival.

Please note: When transferring between JFK, LGA or Newark (EWR) Airports, no baggage transfer is provided, even if you are connecting to a oneworld partner flight and your bags have been checked through to your final destination.
