oneworld to unveil six new fare products with the first just the ticket for students
Hong Kong: oneworld™ - the global airline alliance comprising Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, LanChile and Qantas – is to launch six new types of ticket for travel across the carriers' combined networks. Three of the new fare products are unveiled today:
- Student Visit Passes are a special version of the alliance's established Visit Passes, offering young people travelling to any of the world's continents the most flexible and best value multi-airline air pass.
- The oneworld Circle Trip Explorer fare is similar to the established oneworld Explorer, but specially developed for travellers who want to fly between Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia without circumnavigating the globe.
- The oneworld Circle Pacific, for travellers wishing to fly between Asia, North America, South America and Australasia - circling the Pacific Ocean, as the name of the ticket implies.
The three other new fare products are nearing the completion of their development. Details will be released when they are launched in a few months.
Student Visit Pass: The initial Student Visit Pass will cover Europe, with versions for other continents to follow. Like its "parent" oneworld Visit pass, it will offer as many flights as required across the European and North African networks of any of the alliance's European members - Aer Lingus, British Airways, Finnair and Iberia, plus their affiliates, offering even greater value to young travellers. Between them, oneworld airlines serve some 200 destinations in almost 50 countries in this region, including virtually all the continent's leading cities.
Travellers will be able to use the Student Visit Pass – to be bought in conjunction with a longhaul trip into Europe with any of the oneworld carriers - for just two flights within the region, or as many more as they like. Prices will depend on the number of flights required and the length of each flight.

While some airlines offer their own European air passes, they generally require passengers to make multiple trips through the carrier's home base, which always takes more time and adds cost. oneworld's Visit Europe enables people to switch across the networks of four leading, quality European airlines and their affiliates, providing the fabulous flexibility.

oneworld Student Visit Europe will be available to people aged 26 or less with a valid international student identity card, through selected agencies specialising in student travel outside Europe.
oneworld Circle Trip Explorer: This fare product is a derivative of the highly popular oneworld Explorer round-the-world offering, but designed for people who want to fly to several different continents, excluding the Americas, without actually circumnavigating the globe. Like the established Explorer, prices are based on the number of continents visited and the class of travel chosen, with numerous stopovers included. Travel can be on any oneworld carrier.
oneworld Circle Pacific: This ticket is similar to the oneworld Circle Trip Explorer, but for travellers who want to fly around the Pacific Ocean, between Asia, North America, South America and Australasia. Again, prices are based on the number of continents visited and the class of travel chosen, with numerous stopovers included.
Both the new Circle fares are currently available in selected countries, with rollout elsewhere to follow.
