Transferring within and between terminals
All International flights arrive into Terminal 5. For connections to American Airlines domestic services, clear immigration, collect your baggage and clear customs, then re-check the baggage at the baggage re-check area just outside the baggage hall.
Customers connecting to American Airlines domestic services or flights operated by airberlin, Iberia or Japan Airlines, should follow the signs to the Airport Transit System (ATS) for transfer to Terminal 3.
If you are connecting from an American Airlines domestic flight in Terminal 3 to British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways or Royal Jordanian, follow the signs to the Airport Transit System (ATS) to transfer to Terminal 5.
If you already have a boarding pass for your connecting flight, clear security and proceed to your departure gate. If you do not have a boarding pass, proceed to the check-in counter of the airline you are flying with.
How long does it take to transfer between terminals?
The free Airport Transit System (ATS) connects all terminals, with a maximum travel time of 10 minutes. It operates every three to five minutes between 07:00-22:00 and every 20 minutes between 22:00-07:00.
